Physical Therapist with Interest in Scoliosis and/or the Spine

ABQ Scoliosis and Spine Therapy is searching for a New Mexico Licensed Physical Therapist with an interest in scoliosis or spine care. The ideal candidate is has a strong interest in helping people with scoliosis and is willing to become Schroth certified.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Effectively evaluate patient needs and discuss appropriate treatment plans with staff.
  • Plan and oversee patient treatment program and coordinate details with others members of the staff.
  • Test and evaluate patient's strength, motor development, functional capacity, sensory perception, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.
  • Organize and keep a detailed record of patient charts, records, and other associated documents.
  • Evaluates charts and reports on patient’s progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient account and employee information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent oral, instructional, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and skills in physical therapy equipment, safety regulations and policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance policy (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
  • Must be highly organized, timely and thorough.
  • Proficient computer skills (internet, Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Must be able to build and maintain strong customer relations while providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

Must be licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of New Mexico or is willing to obtain their New Mexico license.
